I Need a Laptop

If you qualify for free government equipment, please claim it through your school. It will be far superior to anything we can provide. If your child is on Free School Meals, Pupil Premium or you don't have a broadband connection in your home, you are very likely to qualify. Ask your school.
At minimum you must already have WiFi wireless internet. Our laptops will be almost useless without WiFi. We cannot provide an internet connection. If you don't have this, speak to your school, you may qualify for free equipment. Beware of using your personal mobile to provide a "hotspot" data connection, this can be very expensive. Also you will need a mains power socket near where you expect the laptop to be used - the laptop's battery will probably be dead.
Right now we're only serving the area usually covered by Tewkesbury secondary school and their "feeder" primary schools. Hopefully this will change, and/or we will list other similar local services here.
Post your request to Facebook "Tewkesbury Noticeboard" and, if possible, tag Andrew Oakley.
Why do it this way?
- So far I'm one bloke and I probably can't cope with many direct enquiries
- If I can't help, someone else who can help, might respond to your post instead
- Posting in public view on a moderated forum is likely to reduce abuse
- If lockdown lasts a long time, or we expand to cover other areas, we'll probably have a better procedure

Can you give me a laptop for my college or university studies or my abandoned animals' home?

No.

Parents of pupils at Tewkesbury School and their affiliated primaries only. We might expand to cover other local school areas, but it will never be for anything other than primary and secondary pupils. Human ones. We're surprised anyone even asked.
